Not-So-Ancient Inventions


Although the Chinese are known for countless ancient inventions, including "the four" inventions of gunpowder, paper-making, printing, and the compass, their creativity has not died out. The Chinese are continuing to develop new technologies and advances in the science world. Noted in the hyperlinked article below are four modern Chinese achievements: hybrid rice, photocomposition for Chinese character typesetting, synthesis of bovine insulin, and the compound artemether.
